Joyce Kaplan
Kaplan Coaching

Joyce Kaplan, a Business & Career Coach, specializes in accelerating business results for professionals, executives, and teams; and career design/job transitions. Focusing on clients' goals, performance, and soft skills, Joyce won an International Coach Federation Prism Award for Coaching Excellence.

A lawyer and former Director, Legal Affairs in a public company, Joyce also offers legal and project management services.

Sample volunteering: pet therapy visits with her dog; advisor, Ontario Self-Employment Benefit Program; networking workshop for the Canadian Tamil Alumni Association.

Vuk Stambolic
Senior Scientist, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and
Professor, Department of Medical Biophysics University of Toronto.

A BSc (Hons) graduate from the University of Belgrade (former Yugoslavia, now Serbia), Dr. Stambolic completed his PhD and post-doctoral training at University of Toronto, and has led his own cancer research laboratory at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre since 2002.

Dr. Stambolic is a global opinion leader in the areas of genetics of cancer and the relationship between obesity and cancer. He is the author of numerous research papers and book chapters and editor in several scientific journals and periodicals. He is a member of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Executive Committee and the Research Council on Oncology.

Vija Mallia
Director Long-Term Care Homes
City of Toronto Long-Term Care Homes & Services (LTCHS)

Vija Mallia is the Director Long-Term Care Homes with the City of Toronto Long-Term Care Homes & Services (LTCHS) division. Vija's previous positions include Acting Director, Administration & Support Services (LTCHS) and Administrator of Castleview Wychwood Towers, a 456-bed municipal Long-Term Care Home in Toronto.

Vija has served as a board member and director of a number of organizations such as the Gerontological Nursing Association of Ontario, Bellwoods Independent Living Centres, Momiji Health Care Society, Canadian National Exhibition, and Kristus Darzs Latvian Home. She is a member of the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.

Vija has participated in a variety of health care committees such as the Toronto Central LHIN Seniors Council, Mental Health Council, Toronto Emergency Networks Mental Health Liaison Task Force, Psychogeriatric Resource Consultant Program, Community Advisory Committee, and the West Emergency Network Pre- and Post-Hospital Care Group, Toronto Dementia Network. Vija received the OANHSS Leadership Award in 2014.

Waheeda Rahman
Director of Organizational Development and Chief Diversity Advisor
Scarborough and Rouge Hospital

Waheeda is nationally recognized and award winning for her leadership in diversity and inclusion and was recently awarded by the International Coaching Federation – Toronto Chapter, the Prism Award of Excellence for creating a coaching culture at the hospital.

Waheeda has over a decade of management expertise in both the public and private sectors, in the areas of change management, leadership, stakeholder engagement, customer experience and marketing. Waheeda is a sought after guest speaker, business coach and mentor. She holds a Masters degree from Ryerson University.

Michelle Theroux
Manager, Canada's Health Transformation Practice

Michelle has over 8 years of consulting experience, working in the Canadian and Asian health markets where she has led strategic/advisory engagements with government agencies and private sector clients to successful completion. She has helped clients, in particular, across areas of strategic planning and operations excellence, and has worked with senior government executives to drive consensus on key decisions.

Michelle holds a Masters of Management degree from McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Renée Schumann
Director of Human Resources

Renée Schumann is a senior Human Resources professional with over 20 years experience working in private and public sectors as a strategic business partner. Most recently, Renée worked as the Director of Human Resources for Ontario’s first fully digital urban hospital in Toronto where she helped to accelerate transformation through leadership, strategic planning, attracting and developing the best talent. She also instituted innovative solutions for optimizing workforce outcomes through HR analytics and data, with special emphasis on predictive analytics as a cornerstone of how to better manage human resources.

Renée has a passion for bringing out the best in people and has extensive experience developing high functioning teams, leading labour relations and organizational transformations. She has success in integrating talent functions to deliver faster end-to-end solutions in the areas of skills, careers, succession, performance management, attraction and retention.

Donna Pascal
Vice-President, Human Resources and Talent Management

Donna Pascal has 20 years of experience in Human Resources, including as Senior HR Executive for fortune 500 companies. Currently Vice President Human Resources at Dynacare, a health and wellness solutions provider and “Top 100 Employer, Donna leads a team of 25 and oversees organizational effectiveness, learning and development, talent acquisition and management, and wellness, health and safety. Previously she was Vice President HR for Acklands-Grainger and Staples North American Delivery.

Donna's credentials include: Bachelor of Arts Degree, Professional Certifications in Advanced Human Resource Management and Alternative Dispute Resolution, training in Executive Coaching, and the Certified Human Resources Leader designation.

Bill Meredith
Associate Vice President
Healthtech Consultants

Bill works with leaders in the Canadian Healthcare sector to develop organizational, regional, and jurisdictional information management and information technology strategies and to create new ways of working together and sharing information.

Bill has had various roles in healthcare information systems over the last 20 years, and is currently Associate Vice President of Healthtech Consultants, where he leads the Planning and Governance Practice.
